Now, Koromaru isn't just any dog, he is a Persona-user but that's only another part of him that makes him unique.
When you're looking at a distance at how Koromaru is with people he's familiar with, you will assume he's a friendly dog. However, he's actually a bit cautious when it comes to strangers and those he doesn't know very well. You can hardly blame him, after all he's a dog, he just needs to develop some trust before he can become the friendly dog that he is.Once he does, he can get quite attached. Though even when he gets familiar with someone, that's only the beginning of trust, you have to put in your half of the relationship to prove yourself. And if it's one thing, Koromaru can be very patient, patient even to listen if you were ever to talk with him, though it'll short out if you ramble on or begin to lecture him on something. He also has the potential to react violently, not the way that he will suddenly attack a person (unless it were a Shadow), but in a way of a guard dog. Especially when it comes to something and even someone important to him, he will never hesitate or back down, always determined and true to heart.
This comes to show the side that Koromaru is well known for, and that's loyalty. Loyalty is what drives Koromaru to his true potential, it's what keeps him going and living. His loyalty is what has him going to the Shrine, despite his past owner having died. It's the loyalty that has him always guarding the place, as though never leaving his dead owner's side. A loyalty that pushes him even to sacrifice his life if he has to for those most important. It's possible you'll never meet a more devoted and loyal canine. He fights to protect, loyal to the heart and will choose to return the favor always if someone ever helps him in anyway. It's also where his trust can deepen. He's energetic and active otherwise, always up for taking walks in the evenings and playing games like a regular dog. Though he also likes his days to relax and possibly even laze around, time to enjoy the quiet. Koromaru also has a gentle caring side to him, to sacrifice food for himself for a lost hungry puppy who needs it so much more. At this moment he resembles an adult, caring for something young of his kind like a guardian or parent.
The canine is also highly intelligent, far more than most dogs in any case. He proves to have a great understanding when it comes to situations at hand, Shadows and Personas, almost on par with a human so he's able to come to even making decisions. He's also quite mature for a dog, in a young kind of mature, not old, but not exactly young to be considered a puppy. When you come to getting close to Koromaru, you'll come to realize that he's a friend for life. Become one of his closest friends and he'll follow you until the end, another sign of his deep loyalty. Also while Koromaru may not be able to talk, he's quite a expressive dog that people tend to get what he may be saying by actions alone. If it's anything, Koromaru enjoys to show and prove how much someone means to him, whether by a friendly gesture or shown through a stronger action like protecting them. He doesn't let anything trouble him easily, he tries to stay strong in every moment, but when something bothers him he won't hide from expressing it. This goes to show how modest and honest Koromaru is, given even if a dog.

The scent of the priest was still there, the familiar touch as the hand petted the top of his head, fingers scratching fondly. The canine's eyes came to squinting happily, a soft whine leaving him as he tilts his head into the touch. He was sorry, very sorry for not being able to protect him. Unable to step in time and save from getting hurt, from dying. Of course he wasn't in denial, no he knew he was gone and dead, despite what people around thought. It was just, his life was so use to being around the priest, the least he could do was protect the place that meant so much to him. The hand continued to pet him, the silver Shiba Inu wagging his curled tail contently side to side till peering up once the hand was lifted.
The person he was staring at now, the one who was smiling gently to him right this second of course was not the priest. No, it was the blue-haired teen, the leader of the SEES team. But after everything they've been through.. Koromaru barks up to him, getting a ear scritch to which the canine is happy to receive. His words, his pettings, it was a reminder of the priest. A pleasant reminder, at that. The canine nudged his muzzle under the hand, giving a light lick till peering back up with big red eyes. Thank you. For taking care of him, for taking him on walks, and even with knowing his past- he didn't push their relationship in any direction but instead walked at Koromaru's pace patiently. For that, Koromaru thanked him, and with that look in the teen's eyes, he could see that he understood that the dog was thanking him. Koromaru was happy. Like his past owner, he will follow in his step, and he will make sure nothing ever comes to harm him. Him or any of the SEES team that the canine has come to accept as cherished friends. The canine then goes shooting off, catching sight of the green ball and closes his teeth on it. Once he picks it up, he jogs back to the teen, holding his head high with happy wags. Now he'll like to spend some more time, possibly playing. When the ball is taken, he looks satisfied and is ready to chase after it once it's thrown.
After what seems to be a while, when Minato's attention is on someone else whether another comrade or some conversation going on nearby, Koromaru is far more than content to just lay down and watch quietly. All these people came to the decision of preparing to fight Nyx, not wanting the world to end. Koromaru of course was part of that decision as well, he did not want this world to end, the world which once had his past owner, which still has the peaceful shrine. A world where he began to learn what it is to trust and understand, where he finally began to get happy again.
"Koro-chan, would you like something to eat?" Peering up at Fuuka, ears fold back and he lets out a whine.
He will definitely fight to protect those important to him.
